Tell Me in Confidence (あなたの
Summary[]
One morning, Shizuka is quietly eating breakfast with her mother before heading off to school. However by the time Shizuka arrives at school, something is off: she's without her cellphone, having been broken and taken to a shop for repairs! Since she uses the cell's text-to-speech app to speak, she has a hard time trying to communicate and is reduced to charades to convey what she's doing, testing it by saying she watched "Pentarou" when asked what she watched on TV last night.
That afternoon, Nano tells Shizuka that she is willing to postpone doing homework together at her place, but Shizuka seems to indicate she still wants to do it with her. At the Nano home, Shizuka is impressed seeing it and a photo of Nano and Rentarou's first date, the cold girl stating it's the first time a friend has seen her room. The duo attempt to do math homework, but Nano is distracted by Shizuka's cuteness to think. Switching to literature, Shizuka uses facial expression to try to show the emotions of the character in the book, but Nano contemplates she's just swallowed in Shizuka's cuteness but wonders why she feels the way she does.
Eventually as she realizes how inefficient their work is becoming with Shizuka's lack of communication, Nano asks the small girl to take a bath with her. While the two bathe nude, Nano gives Shizuka her cell and her text-to-speech app to attempt to communicate, but where she has to type things in instead of the transcripted books Rentarou gave her originally. Shizuka asks why Nano wanted a bath as the cold girl states that by stripping clothes, it's easier to "let it all hang out" and express emotions. Nano bluntly asks Shizuka what she's hiding and notices that she's possibly a nanometer out of place and believes Rentarou may already know but is not speaking about it out of respect but Nano can pick up on it and believes her to be struggling and that she wants to help.
Shizuka quickly reveals the truth: that morning, her mother asked her for her cellphone, knowing that she talks through it via neighbors seeing her do so. Mrs. Yoshimoto stated she thought Shizuka needed a cell to speak to people normally, but that she is as antisocial as ever choosing to read over actual communication, leading to the demand. As she reveals it to Nano, Shizuka weakly speaks with her own voice, crying about how Rentarou did all the work to transcribe the books she uses to talk and she couldn't tell him what happened! Nano suggests telling Rentarou seeing it as the efficient manner but thinks if Shizuka is too frightened then she'll be by her side to communicate with her.
Nano calls Rentarou who drops everything to visit them and is told the entire detail of what Nano discovered about Shizuka. After hearing it, Rentarou asks to meet Mrs. Yoshimoto, believing he won't do anything that will make Shizuka sad. He offers Nano to come, but she states that there shouldn't be a large group and she's poor at speaking with tact thus she would be a burden. With that, Rentarou and Shizuka begin to head off to the Yoshimoto house but not before Shizuka hugs her efficient friend, quietly telling her "thank you" as Nano suggests she stays strong.
Rentarou and Shizuka arrive at the Yoshimoto home and ring the doorbell, only for Mrs. Yoshimoto to be standing outside surprised she brought a visitor; and with no "zing" occurring as she and Rentarou face each other in confrontation.
