Rentarou's Family and the School Ghost Story (
Summary[]
Prologue[]
At the request of Momoha, the entire Family has decided to partake in the starry night sky around the school. However while looking at the sky, Rentarou notices a suspicious silhouette inside the high school building; he thinks he's seeing things, but suspects that it could be a creep who would want to take pictures of Momoha sleeping! Seeing this as a potential threat to the girls, whether it be some shady individual or something paranormal, Rentarou goes into the school to investigate.
The girls continue to obliviously watch the stars until they hear a massive scream from the school, immediately recognizing it as Rentarou! The girls get suspicious as Yaku notices he isn't responding and Mimimi can't reach his cell phone. They all wonder what happened until Uto brings up the suggestion that there is a possibility of strange apparitions within the school haunting it that captured him, making Eira tumble away in fear immediately. Kishika begins to suggest searching for him, joined soon by Mei and the others, but Nano believes the most efficient manner is to split up; as Kusuri and Momoha fear what could happen on their own, Chiyo adds that they should be in groups of two and Naddy offers a "ladder lotto" to determine who goes with whom.
Hakari and Karane[]
The busty beauty and flat tsundere complain about being stuck together due to the lottery; Karane gripes about Hakari using her as a human shield and believes that Hakari is just a complete wuss, but Hakari blows into Karane making her even more scared! The duo soon come across the flat wall-like Yokai Nurikabe, but Karane gets offended believing it's calling her as "flat as a wall"; Karane threatens to beat it up as Hakari forces her to run!
Ahko and Suu[]
The gyaru compliments her spectacled classmate about not being scared but Suu states there's nothing to be scared of while stating Ahko doesn't either but she can't show it despite being spooked out of her mind! The duo come across the Yokai Amabie, which Ahko recognizes, but has no idea what it does since it's not well known, choosing to just take selfies with it and Suu. Eventually they come across a cycloptoid yokai with one eye, which Suu enters into "maiden mode" over due to her love of the number "1", Ahko complimenting her for finding a new friend.
Shizuka and Nano[]
Shizuka is scared for her life as Nano assures her that she shouldn't be afraid of unscientific entities that don't exist; but also worries about the increase of her own pulse in fear, possibly due to Shizuka. The duo come across a Rokurokubi Yokai; Shizuka tries to scream with her timid voice but Nano states it doesn't exist and it's merely a human wearing a costume; they try to pass but Shizuka's fear makes Nano take another route.
Yamame and Momoha[]
Momoha is scared witless wanting to drink her fear away as the giant female doesn't want her to fend for herself; Momoha is willing to let Yamame fight the Yokai like she fights bears but the gentle girl states they're living things too (despite the possible contrary). A Hitodama emerges in the darknessj, making Yamame fall to the ground and forcing Momoha to carry her instead! The duo come across other fire Yokai like Chouchin-Obake, Yamanba and Hifukijijii, with Yamame continuing to shriek as the Ethics teacher protects her.
Mei and Iku[]
Iku is happy about how ghastly and spooky the surroundings are as Mei compliments her enthusiasm and desire to be used as a meat shield against any threat. They come across a Nopperabou, which Mei thinks is a normal human and asks if it's seen Rentarou, which makes Iku pull her away due to not recognizing it as a Yokai, Mei claiming she saw the shape as human and figured it was one. They soon come across a kappa; Mei states that it's unusual that the creature is walking around drenched in a dry area as it keeps asking for shirikodama. Iku tells the kappa the shirikodama is in it's butt and tells it to take it from her if it can as she turns around and it wanders off.
Chiyo and Mai[]
Mai is scared as Chiyo tries to tell her there are no ghosts around, stating she's used to calming others due to needing to comfort her father from scary things. The duo come across a trash-obsessed Yokai that makes Chiyo angry about how filthy it's making everything, making her clean everything up; with the inspiration of Mei in her head, Mai joins her until the entire room is clear, shocking Mai about how scary both of them are!
Yet as the night continues on and the Yokai continue to appear, Rentarou remains nowhere to be found...
