Summary[]

The 25th (cat)girlfriend's job troubles.

Tama is depressed: she's still trying to find a part-time job, but she keeps bombing her interviews to the point she's lost count. When asked by Karane what she stated on her interviews, the cat (who uses her original human vestiges when appearing before employers) states "she doesn't want to work", which ultimately leads to said interviews to fail. Tama realizes if she doesn't get a job, she won't be able to pay her rent. However Hahari decides to just take the cat in; she first states it's "reader expectation", but also that Rentarou can't afford to keep her and that she's so rich and already keeping pets like her dog and cat that it isn't a strain to keep another. After asking Rentarou's permission due to her being part of his Family, the deal is made, making Tama appreciate the effort.

Later at the Hanazono Estate, Tama is introduced to the Hanazono pets, cat Alus and dog Butch, which Tama inspects with feline suspicion before the trio settle down together. By the next day, Tama is comfortable with the pets and spends the day in the mansion as Hakari and Hahari head off to do their daily routines, playing and sunning herself; Tama realizes she's finally happy, hanging out at the mansion outside lunch and after school where Rentarou and the Family will pamper her allowing her to fully embrace the feline condition in full. However as she lays in the sun, Tama thinks about how others are working hard while she's just being lazy, making her begin to worry.

Eventually Tama is escorted to Ohananomitsu High by Mei and hangs with the others, but sees everyone else doing things and being productive; talking, knitting, playing instruments, all while she continues to worry. Yaku and Naddy offer her a lap to lay in, but she turns it down, surprising them about her bad mood. Tama worries that everyone is just working hard even on the roof while all she wants to do is be lazy, making her more depressed. By the time she returns home, she conflicted: she wants to put in effort, but found her "Mewtopia" at the mansion, making her just feel worthless and comforted by Alus and Butch.

Unknowing to Tama, Hahari sees Tama's depressed state on a pet camera, making her realize she gave Tama the "easy way out" by adopting her; even after she was trying her hardest to get a part-time job despite her struggles, yet she made a mockery of it by making her a pet; ultimately realizing that Tama isn't happy and hasn't found a way to move forward with her own life.

Hours later, Hahari suddenly arrives at her home; Tama wonders if it's time to visit the family, but the mother states she wants to take her somewhere. Driving out to a street, she returns to the box Rentarou found her in and runs away in sadness stating she can't look back at her and it's for the best! Tama yells back she wants her to slurp and smooch her as much as she wants, but Hahari stays resolved and tells Mei to leave as quickly as possible, crying to herself as she returns to her limo. At the box, Tama is crying about the abandonment, calling herself useless and believing that even Rentarou will turn against her eventually. But without warning, she sees a flyer in the same box for part-time jobs at the "Flower Mommy Baby-Food Factory".

Some time later at the factory, Tama undergoes another interview; when asked why she wants to work for them, she answers the same as she always does: "she doesn't want to work". But when confronted by how much she doesn't, Tama tearfully states her friends take her as she does and she wants to stand beside them with something she can be proud of. Because of this, Tama actually gets the job and is celebrated for her effort; Eira reveals that "Flower Baby" is improbably ethical with their caretake of workers while Iku realizes it's close to school, allowing for her to continue participating with family activities. When Hakari questions her mother about if this is one of their companies, Hahari silences her; she states that they hire not due to whether they want to work or not but how cute they are; but also states she wouldn't have gotten the job if she didn't go in there personally and it was her drive that got Tama that job.

Tearful for her success, Tama thanks Hahari for casting her out of "Mewtopia" and helping her get the job. She begins to ask about something and Hahari thinks that if she wants to quit again and return, she'd be fine with it; but the cat instead asks to drop by and keep playing at the mansion, which Hahari accepts as Tama shows her appreciation.
