Summary[]

Sukisugi-cho is preparing a big event and Hahari reveals that they want the "Rentarou's Family" idol group to perform as part of it! The girls who weren't part of the family when the idols were formed prior (Yamame through Himeka) compliment their seniors about how wonderful and cute their performance was, building them up to prepare for an encore performance. However, two weeks before the event, an approaching typhoon moved it up by a week and every member of the first group had "previous plans"; while Himeka states they need to cancel, Hahari remembers "we have 13 more available members"; they try to back out but Rentarou declaring they'd be cute make them undertake in the new plan!

The new idol girls are taken once again to Qually Tina, who states that their predecessors reminded her of what was important in being an idol and that this is how she's paying them back. However, she's still mostly about the "quality" of an idol, counting it out making Suu act up in maidenly glee forcing her to yell that it's more than just the numbers but the quality once again. As the training gets underway, Tina sees some potential already in the quality of both Himeka and Rin ("Rhythmic" as musicians), Eira ("Capoeira" due to her training), Kishika ("Sports Club" from her body movement) and even Momiji ("Eccentric" in handling anything strange with a straight face). However, she doesn't see the same in Ahko and Uto ("Sedentary" due to Ahko's low blood pressure and Uto's preference to singing over dancing), Mai ("Clumsy"), Yamame ("Hectic" due to her larger frame), Yaku ("Traditional Japanese"), Momoha ("Alcoholic"), Tama ("Kitty") and Suu ("Numerical").

After a break, Tina moves on to singing and it doesn't go any better: Yaku has no idea what to sing, Suu is much more deadpan, and the others are changing the lyrics to their own manners (Yamame adding "aye" at the end, Tama making it feline, Ahko making it more gyaru and abridged, Uto making it much wordier). Despite the lack of "quality" she sees, Tina pushes on and the practicing continues for the week in preparation for the performance.

Eventually, Tina sees the students who appear to be moving into being idols, namely those she spotted as good prior (Himeka, Rin, Eira, Kishika, Momiji) and those who improved without distractions (Momiji = alcohol, Mai = sisters); but still sees the remaining girls as with too many problems in bringing quality out (Suu and Tama as forgetful, Ahko and Uto as just sedentary and Yamame keeping her animals around); the gap in quality is a problem but also sees she needs to let them decide what they wish to do from here compared to the prior troupe.

After class, the lower students complain about their situation; Suu states she didn't think she was going to make it having never sang or danced before; while Uto wonders if the five of them should bow out to improve the performance of the others. But before they do, Himeka approaches them, stating they saw the previous troupe and figured they weren't just praising them but also jealous at how much Rentarou saw them shining brightly. As they question the motivation, Kiki responds she felt similarly, which is why she volunteered for this. Suu wonders if they can even match the first troupe, but Himeka states they don't need to and they need to shine brighter for Rentarou's sake and refuses to do the performance without them. Uto asks how, but Himeka states "if you can't challenge with cake, do it with ramen", thus it shouldn't be an imitation or typical but "abnormally novel" and that it should include all of them as part of a family, agreeing none of them were dead weight and they can't do this performance without all of them there and even with their own problems, they shouldn't run away. As the drop-outs realize they're in it together with the successes, Himeka tells them they need to start preparing for their own performance. Rentarou comes by to give more to the girls, but Tina stops him banning him from watching any more until the performance so that they can work to figure how to shine their brightest on their own.

Eventually, the 2nd Generation Idol Troupe come up with their plan and Tina agrees to it, preparing for their big performance.
