Love Mission: Impossible (ラブミッション:インポッシブル Rabu Misshon: Inposshiburu?) is the sixteenth chapter of the 100 Kanojo manga.
Summary[]
The group climb over the fence and into the garden of the Hanazono mansion, using a fountain to cover the sounds of them entering. Rentarou informs them that there are security guards on the premises, so they need to remain aware at all times.
Rentarou’s first plan is to hit Hakari’s bedroom window with a rubber ball to get her attention and have her climb out using a rope. He throws the ball towards the window but undershoots it, resulting in the ball flying off into the darkness. The group try to look for the ball and find the Hanazono cat playing with it. They try to get it back, but this makes a lot of noise, alerting a nearby security guard. The group manage to hide before the guard spots them, but the guard begins to play with the cat in front on the window. Rentarou abandons the first plan and moves onto the second one which involves entering the mansion to rescue Hakari. Nano mentions that if the cat is outside, the mansion must have a cat flap somewhere, which they find further around the building on a door.
As the cat is currently outside, the cat flap isn’t locked, so the group speculate how they can open the door using it. Nano manages to open the door by flicking rocks she picked up from the garden at the doors inside lock until it opened, an action which results in her breaking her nail. The group step inside the mansion but come face to face with the Hanazono dog who chases them back out to the garden. Rentarou realises that Shizuka isn’t with the group as she fell over from fear. After some thought, Shizuka chooses to sacrifice herself as it’s the only thing she can do. This, however, triggers the dog’s instinct to protect weaker creatures because she’s so fragile and scared, causing it to begin licking her in an attempt to comfort her. Rentarou beings to ponder what they should now do. Nano suggests that Shizuka attempts to crush the dog’s eyes, but Rentarou quickly puts the idea down. Kusuri tosses Shizuka a sleeping drug, with the idea that it can be used to knock the dog out, but she drinks it herself, resulting in her falling asleep. This still proves successful however as the dog licks some of Shizuka’s drool which happens to of had some of the drug in it, knocking it out. Kusuri then wakes Shizuka up using the neutralization drug and the group continues forward.
The group make it to a long and wide hallway, where they again find the cat. As they begin to move forward, an alarm is suddenly triggered, causing them to panic. They manage to hide behind the door to the room before the guards burst into the room. The guards assume that the cat triggered the alarm by tripping the infrared sensors, as its not the first time it’s happened, and leave the room. The group overhears that there are infrared sensors lining the hall, and begin to conclude that they can’t pass through the hall. Kusuri, however, brings out “eye drops that let you see infrared light” for the group to use, failing to mention that the subject won’t be able to see anything but infrared light until after Rentarou has put them in. Kusuri accidentally drops an envelope from an overseas pharmaceutical research institute. She tries to play it off as nothing, but the group gets concerned as she previously mentioned that she admired the group and that they started recruiting new members, the deadline requiring her to send the eye drops that Rentarou had just used that day. Kusuri states however that the sacrifice is fine as the research team can never replace Hakari, who is a super important friend.
With the eye drops having taken effect, Rentarou opens his eyes, only to be greeted with a giant wall of lasers, several times his height.
