Summary[]

At the usual rooftop, the picture book author and the avid reader lock eyes...

As she is doing sketches on the roof, Meru notices Shizuka watching her; the small girl states that the author is incredible for having both written and drawn the pictures of a book as she has; Meru states it is born in her faith in fairy tales, but considers Shizuka love and passion for books as wonderful in it's own right, wondering that if she loves books so much if Shizuka could write one of her own. Shizuka wonders if she could having never considered that idea and states it's beyond her; but Meru states that as long as she has pen and paper or even her smartphone, anyone can do it; and she appears to mention about inexperience that she and the author of "Circlet Love Story" started out as something; but stops herself before apologizing for overstepping and more admires Shizuka's love of books and believes it as awkward to twist her hand into writing as such.

As the day winds down and Shizuka lies on her bed, she gets a feeling she can't put down and wakes up to start writing something.

The next day at school, Shizuka and Meru ignore the chaos around them as the author asks what she's done as the small girl admits she has started writing. Meru states she wants to read her eventual work but also implores her that it's still important to get a good-night sleep and that a lack of rest will wear away at her imagination and ruin the story. However she also admits that once the creative switch is turned on, it hard to turn it back off and that she has to capitalize on whatever she's thinking at this very moment. Meru decides to offer an "inspiration" for her works; Shizuka thinks it's going to be something filled with hopes and dreams, but it turns out to be a can of "Monster EG" Energy Drink, which Meru proclaims "the most incredible creation to spring from the mind of man"; though still advises Shizuka to get a good night sleep regardless.

That evening, Meru appears to be working on another sketch but ends up throwing it away as she wallows in despair. Meanwhile, Shizuka continues to write relentless at home and at school, but begins to show worry about how the content she's written has turned out. She starts to cry stating that her work is nothing like the books that she loves and saved her, which mean everything to her. She throws it away and goes to bed, wallowing in despair believing she can't do it; she's not like Meru and has nothing to share with the world. As she stares at the "Monster" can Meru gave her and the author's words that she is eager to see what Shizuka has to write and her love of books, she wakes back up and begins to write again, drinking the can of "Monster" in the night to keep trying to finish her piece. By night's end, Shizuka has finished the tale and texts Meru that she wants her to read it; but the author states she wants to come over at that very moment and read it instead!

A short time later, the author is at Shizuka's house; Shizuka apologizes for how wrinkled the manuscript is, but Meru states it's no problem. Meru reads the manuscript as Shizuka hides her face in embarrassment over how she's going to take it in the end.

Once finished, Meru thanks Shizuka for finishing the tale and believed it was a difficult and painful story to write but is in tears after reading it. Using her true voice, Shizuka states that it isn't worth crying over, but Meru states the story is still amateurish, but it's the first step one must take. However Meru states this is a story of Shizuka's own; it couldn't have been written by anyone else and exists due to Shizuka's own hand. Meru states she believes every person has a tale no one else can tell, exceptional to them and them alone, and there is no comparison of any of them since they're all precious and valuable to the merit of their uniqueness, yet Meru can't help but make comparisons. She states the rapture of her love of Rentarou and the joy of being in Rentarou's Family are fairy tales of the legends of stupendous titans and that any fairy tale she can write will feel banal and lilliputian by comparison. But in reading Shizuka's tale, she can't compare it to something much larger than her; it is merely shining in it's own light, neither better or worse than any other tale. Shizuka wonders if that belief applies to Meru's own works in fairy tales, which she finally admits it does, stating that Shizuka's book "saved her". Having finished her first book, Meru offers a toast of "Monster" to celebrate between the two of them, but Shizuka coughs up stating "fizzy drinks aren't for her"; Meru states she should have told her, but Shizuka states that she couldn't have finished it without it's help and got into it, which Meru is happy with.

A short time later at the library, Shizuka is writing a new manuscript while working; Meru comes by and joins her as the two write together.
