100Kanojo Wiki

Morikita-sensei the Guidance Counselor ( (せい) () () (どう) (もり) (きた) (せん) (せい) Seito Shidō no Morikita-sensei?) is the two hundred and thirteenth chapter of the 100 Kanojo manga.

Summary[]

The infamously strict guidance councelor Morikita-sensei calls Rentarou to see her. What's going to happen...?

One day at the school roof, Rentarou tells everyone that he has been summoned by Kimari Morikita, the school's guidance counselor, who also happens to be Kishika's civics teacher. Kishika warns that Kimari is a very strict woman with Saki and Kusuri chipping in with their own experiences with her. When Rentarou meets Kimari in her office, though, he feels that spark when he locks eyes with her, signifying her as one of his soulmates.

Though shocked by the "zing," Kimari regains her composure and has Rentarou sit down, telling him she is aware of his many relationships with different girls in the school and unaware of his relations with the staff members. Kimari tells Rentarou that conduct that goes against public morals is against the rules at school, and he is to end all of his relationships immediately. Despite being taken aback, Rentarou calmly states that he values his many girlfriends more than anything else in the world, and though he knows it doesn't excuse that he has broken several rules about it, he compares his relationships to doing something wrong for the right reason, and that some people value certain things above the law. When he asks Kimari if he understands his position, she states nothing precedes the rules in her book. However, her words elicit an expression from Rentarou that she has seen before in others, even though she thinks it is common sense to always follow the rules. It makes her wonder if the fault lies in her upbringing because, as a kid, Kimari was told by her parents, who were a police officer and a judge, to never break the rules that structure society, and due to this, she garnered a reputation as a tattletale and a nag from kids her age and students because she threatened to tell others they were breaking the rules or take things from her students.

Regardless, Rentarou tries to plead his case by telling Kimari just how much his girls mean to him, but on the inside, he acknowledges that he is in the wrong here, and if given the choice, Rentarou would gladly drop out of school than to break up with any of the girls, but considers this the girls' only chance to date a student in their school life, and he doesn't want to take that from them. Once school ends, Kimari tells Rentarou that her view stands strong and he must end his relationship with them, but seeing the look on his face convinces her to let him see her tomorrow to continue their discussion, which Rentarou thanks her for. She also tells him to take care as it is dark outside.

As Rentarou walks home, he thinks about how concerned Kimari is about him walking home at night and calls her a kind woman whose strictness is just a form of her caring side. He then sees her waiting at a crosswalk to go home, but he sees it is the notorious one with the really long red light. Since there were no cars on the road, he figured she could just jaywalk, but instead, she just stood there waiting for the light to turn green, which made him blush. Kimari then sees some students hanging out and tells them to go home, and Rentarou comes to realize something.

The next day, Rentarou meets with Kimari again and tells her he saw her last night, and how dignified and beautiful she looked waiting for the green light. His words unexpectedly touched Kimari as they starkly contrasted with the others who called her a killjoy or a nag, making her heart skip a beat. Just as she is about to ask him to follow her example, he tells her he saw her with the schoolgirls and realized that somewhere deep down, Kimari wants to break a rule for once in her life. Though caught off guard, Kimari tries to deny it, but Rentarou asks her to look him in the eyes and say it, and that she shouldn't lie to him about it. Kimari says that even if he is right, she insists that rules shouldn't be broken on a whim, which he says is exactly how she should guide the students. However, as an adult who more than knows proper judgment, she shouldn't sacrifice her own happiness just to blindly follow the rules of society, just as long as she doesn't bother other people while breaking the rules.

Rentarou's words start getting to Kimari, but as her parent's words ring through her head, she maintains her stance until Rentarou stands up and declares that she doesn't have to break any rules because he'll break them for her. Rentarou confesses his love for Kimari and asks her out, and though her heart is beating fiercely, she tries to say no since Rentarou is a student and she is a teacher. Rentarou puts his hands on her shoulders and offers to stop if she tells him to, which she says is not the real issue. Ultimately, Kimari says nothing as the two share a kiss, and upon doing so, Kimari feels a surge of freedom and guilt for breaking a rule in her twenty-seven years of life. After a while of kissing, Rentarou asks Kimari again if she will go out with him, but though she says they shouldn't, she still takes his hand, which Rentarou ultimately accepts as a "yes."

The narration then reveals that since that day, Kimari has become more tolerant of rule-breaking... in a way.
