Members of the Hanazono Family ( (はな) (ぞの) () (ひと) (たち)  Hanazono-ke no Hito-tachi) is the twenty-second chapter of the 100 Kanojo manga.

Summary[]

Rentarou and his girlfriends are playing cards when Rentarou and Hahari's hands touch, causing them to blush. This reminds Hahari of something that she needs to do, so she leaves the room and tells the others to continue without her.

Some time passes and Kusuri makes a comment on how long it’s taking Hahari to pee, prompting Rentarou to explore the mansion to look for her. Whilst searching, he gets the whiff of a scent coming from a room. He looks in and sees Hahari praying to an alter for what he assumes is her dad. He moves to leave her alone, but after remembering her sorrowful face, he walks into the room and asks if he can offer an incense as well. He notices that the picture in the frame is of a middle school student; Hahari explains that the image is of her former lover and Hakari’s father, surprising Rentarou. The two pray and Rentarou asks her why she choose the path of loneliness despite being so attractive. She tries to deny explaining it to him but caves in after Rentarou says that they can get through it together. Hahari says that she can’t forget about her former lover, despite his passing. She believes that she can’t be forgiven for falling in love with someone else, despite still being in love with her previous lover.

Rentarou pulls her into a hug and tells her that she has no reason to try and forget about him, and that there are no rules about being able to fall in love with 2 people. Love can’t be fake and if the other person feels that the love they are getting is genuine, then it is genuine. Rentarou tells her that it’s alright for her to still love and embraces her tightly. The two of them share some words together and Hahari asks if Rentarou can kiss her because she never got to kiss her previous lover, as he told her to save her first kiss for someone who swears to never leave her alone. After realising the heavy topic they were discussing, Hahari tells Rentarou not to worry about it and that they should return to the others, pulling him along. Before she can pull him along, however, he pulls her into a kiss, an action that causes Hahari to cry from remembering what her last lover said.

Later that night, the group are all sleeping in a set of beds pushed together. Karane awakens to Hakari moving from her spot in the bed next to Rentarou. Hakari reveals to Rentarou that she was worried that they’d never see each other again. Rentarou kisses her and reassures Hakari that he is right there next to her. The two of them cuddle till the morning, an action that Karane allows as she didn’t want Hakari to one up her.

Early in the morning, Rentarou awakes to Karane and Hakari kissing each other, both dreaming that they’re kissing Rentarou. He heads to the bathroom, and on his way, runs into the ghost of Hahari’s former lover and Hakari’s father. Hahari’s former lover tries to threaten Rentarou by expressing his anger for having Hahari and Hakari taken away from him. Rentarou, however, remains stoic and calmly replied that he would also like to speak to him. The ghost asks Rentarou why he isn’t afraid, to which he answers by saying that as Hahari thinks of him a lot, he can tell that he is actually a kind person. He drops the act and thanks Rentarou for bringing his daughter and former lover happiness, and for freeing Hahari from the shackles known as himself. Rentarou suggests that they should watch over them together, which Hahari’s former lover agrees to. He also thanks the ghost for Hakari’s birth and giving Hahari times of happiness before Rentarou came along. Due to Rentarou's sheer kindness, Hahari’s former lover starts to fade away as his regrets on dying and leaving Hakari and Hahari alone disappear. Rentarou screams for Hahari’s former lover as he wakes up from a dream and stumbles to the floor.

Rentarou and his girlfriends leave the Hanazono mansion as they need to retrieve their uniforms from home. Hahari asks for them to visit again and Rentarou promises that they’ll meet again soon. Hahari ends up buying Rentarou’s school and becoming the chairwoman because she wanted to see him so badly, though they still miss each other as Rentaoru sprints to the mansion to see her.
