Miss Naddy (ナディー
Summary[]
Rentarou, Hakari, Karane, Shizuka, Nano and Meme are in class discussing who will be replacing their Japanese teacher as they won the lottery, when the door slides open and the teacher walks in. She introduces herself as Miss Naddy in broken English immediately making Karane question why she’s teaching Japanese. Karane gets heated over Miss Naddy’s explanation, so Rentarou calms her down. Miss Naddy thanks him, and whilst doing so, the two of them make eye contact and zing–his 13th soulmate. She immediately tells Rentarou to see her after class for supplementary lessons, giving his eyebrows as an excuse for a reason.
After class, Rentarou is feeling awkward because Miss Naddy is sitting so close to him, which she plays off as being normal in America. She pulls him into a hug, making him fall onto the floor where she then kisses him, playing both acts of affection off as an American greeting as well. She then declares her love for Rentarou, asking if he’ll go out with her despite them being teacher and student. Rentarou disregards her confession however, and states that he’s figured out that she actually is Japanese as it’s one of the few countries in the world where people confess before engaging in a relationship.
Miss Naddy panics at the realisation that her jig is up and, at Rentarou’s questioning, reveals that her actual name is Yamato Nadeshiko, that her English isn’t good enough for her to teach it and that she’s 100% Japanese. It’s revealed that she was treated very poorly by her parents, being the eldest daughter of their household yet not being able to do what her parents asked of her. She got her sense of freedom after watching an American film she found whilst being locked in a warehouse to reflect on her actions. She was ultimately abandoned by her parents after she adopted an American look, dying her hair and wearing American clothing. She worries that Rentarou won’t want to date her as she’s such a disgrace, but he reveals that he only asked as he wants to know everything about her if they’re going to date. He accepts her confession and as Miss Naddy goes to thank him, he tells her to go back to her American self, which she does.
