100Kanojo Wiki

Eiai-san ( (えい) (あい) さん Eiai-san?) is the sixth chapter of the 100 Kanojo manga.

Summary[]

Rentarou and his girlfriends are on their way to see their exam results when Rentarou realises he has forgot his phone at his desk and goes back to retrieve it. Back in the classroom, he notices a girl remaining at her desk, studying. He calls out to her, asking if she’s planning to check the exam results, to which she responds by turning her head and saying its insignificant because she knows she’ll get first place anyway, making it a waste of time. As they make eye contact, Rentarou zings with her - his 4th soulmate. He uses the opportunity to invite her to see the exam results, but she flatly refuses again. Upon looking at the exam results board, Rentarou sees that the girl he spoke to is named Nano Eiai, who has rumours spreading about her that she is secretly an AI.

Rentarou and Nano are paired up together in Biology class. However, instead of using a microscope to observe onion cells as instructed, Nano copies their structure out of a textbook, claiming that is more efficient. Distracted by Nano, Rentarou accidentally cuts himself with a razor. Rather than letting Rentarou get it disinfected at the infirmary, Nano chooses to put Rentarou’s finger in her mouth and lick it, stating that saliva has antibacterial properties.

The two of them leave biology class together, and Rentarou invites Nano for a drink and a chat. She refuses, stating that it is insignificant. Rentarou argues that having a fun conversation should be significant, but Nano rejects this idea, saying that she has no experience in having fun because there is nothing to gain from it. She holds the belief that anything in the world that doesn’t benefit your future holds no significance. Nano leaves Rentarou behind, leaving him baffled as to whether Nano is actually his soulmate or not.

Whilst studying at home, Nano gets embarrassed after reflecting on her actions during the day. She states that she doesn’t understand the feelings she is having and tries to recite the digits of pi to calm herself down, to no avail. Nano believes that the only way to rid her feelings is to end the love. The next day at school, she asks Rentarou out only for her to break up with him the moment he accepts her request. Nano states that she has no desire to fall in love with anyone and that love is insignificant to her. Rentarou however refuses to give up his feelings, saying that the level of heartbreak she showed him isn’t enough for his feelings to waver.
