The A.I. Girl’s Insignificant Day (
Summary[]
Rentarou understands that Nano wants to end this love, and that receiving a constant stream of love from him is just inconvenient for her. So he can lay his love down as well, he proposes that the 2 of them go on a singular date before he gives up on her, which she agrees to. The 2 of them meet at an amusement park. Rentarous goal for the day is to try and show Nano that spending time with people you like and love does have some significance.
The pair go to many different attractions in the amusement park including: a carousel, a haunted house, spinning teacups and a maze. Many of the rides they go on confuses Nano as she doesn’t understand how people can find them entertaining. The two of them go on a Ferris Wheel, which reveals to Rentarou that Nano is afraid of heights. He helps to calm her down by moving beside her and holding her hand, which she grips tightly.
At the end of the day, Nano and Rentarou sit down and look through the photos that Rentarou took throughout the day with his instant camera. He asks her how she felt about the day; she replies by saying that although she had fun, she didn’t gain anything from it and apologises to him. After hearing her response, Rentarou concludes that the day must have been insignificant and that they should pretend the day never happened. He takes a lighter out of his pocket and attempts to burn the photos he took, but Nano quickly snatches them out of his hand. Confused at her actions, Rentarou explains that the way she acted is the best proof that she did in fact gain something from the day—something so valuable to her that her heart is telling her she doesn’t want to lose it. Nano begins to cry after hearing his explanation, and Rentarou moves to comfort her. After composing herself, Nano confesses properly to Rentarou, stating that she has much to gain from being in love with him and that there are many more significant things to discover. Rentarou readily accepts her confession and is stunned after Nano quickly pulls him in for a kiss.
