Welcome to Rentarou's Family's Shopping District (ようこそ (れん) () (ろう) ファミリー (しょう) (てん) (がい)  Yōkoso Rentarō Famirī Shōtengai) is the eighty-eighth chapter of the 100 Kanojo manga.

Summary[]

Rentarou introduces Ahko to the Family; she actually recognizes the girls as the idol group that performed at the festival some time back and thought they were all adorable, but considers that she wouldn't be of any use as an idol due to her low blood pressure. When asked about her likes by Iku, Ahko states her love of cute things and desire to open a Fancy Goods Store; the students all end up revealing their dreams (Kusuri - Pharmacist; Momiji - Masseuse; Iku - Professional Baseball; Yamame - Taking over the family farm; Mimimi - the world's most beautiful model; Nano - joining a stable corporation); while the older members reflect on already living their dreams (including Mei living only for Hahari and Yaku wanting to just see the face of her grandchild.) However several girls don't seem to have any dreams: Shizuka states she has nothing, Kishika stating kendo is only for tempering herself and not for her future and Meme believing she doesn't even know if there's anything she can do! Using this as a starting point, Hahari suggests that the family plays "shopkeeper" by opening stores to show off their dreams; and if their dream isn't something that's easily sellable (like Mimimi's), they can work with someone else to help their dreams. The girls talk among themselves and by the next day, the roof is converted into an entire shopping district (by Hahari's expense) with Rentarou guiding Ahko and the gyaru even getting special "Ren" money to spend at the stands.

Ahko first visit's Mountain Flowers (run by Hakari and Yamame); Ahko is impressed but her favorite flowers are the ones in Yamame's hair which her butterflies tend to land on; Yamame panics and prepares to give them up, but Hakari saves her by giving Ahko other cute flowers which she takes instead.

The next stop is the book stall Gentle & Quiet (run by Shizuka and Nano); Shizuka asks for Ahko's recommendation and the gyaru asks for manga, but Shizuka gives her a picture book instead. When Ahko asks Nano for suggestions, Nano supplies a dictionary but Ahko doesn't like it due to how heavy it is and how it could make her muscular and uncute; thus Nano instead gives her a smaller pocket dictionary.

Next is Freshly Fondled Rubonese Bakery (run by Kurumi and Momiji), with Momiji kneading and Kurumi tasting and seasoning. When asking the specialty of the stand, Momiji states it's about how the bread feels when kneading; however Ahko instead buys some bread keychains due to no supply (due to Kurumi eating all of them with the taste tests).

At the Cararaise stand (run by Rentarou and Karane), Rentarou admits Karane's cookies are the best of anyone's and thus he opened a stall for them. Ahko calls the cookies "cute", when Karane shows shock wondering what Ahko thinks as cute, she points at Karane who flusters; Rentarou admits Karane is also the cutest in the galaxy but Karane stuffs his mouth with cookies as Ahko still buys several.

At the Yakumoto Chiyoshi stand (run by Kusuri and Chiyo), after a brief moment where Kusuri nearly sells something illegal to Ahko before her partner stops her, Kusuri offers a "laugh-out-loud drug" which she stuffs into Chiyo making the middle schooler laugh uncontrollably. Ahko merely passes it along as Chiyo yells at Kusuri to give her the Negation Drug to calm her down.

At Knit Good - Fashion Mimimeme (run by Mimimi and Meme), Meme is running the stands selling her knit dolls while Mimimi is standing there acting as her beautiful mannequin. Mimimi takes off a sweater as Meme worries about what else her partner would do before vanishing.

At the Americandy stand (run by Naddy and Yaku), Ahko looks through but notices all the sweets are in Japanese labels and black and brown in color! Naddy offers "American candy" but Ahko turns it down thinking it's unhealthy; Ahko asks for Karintou and chocolate; but Naddy gets confused not knowing how "chocolate" is spelled in English.

At the Baby Products Melty Mothering stand (run by Hahari and Kishika), Ahko likes how small the products are but states she doesn't have a baby to use them with. Hahari states even caregivers can get use out of it as she demonstrates putting a pacifier into Kishika's mouth, instantly melting her. Ahko makes purchases as Kishika immediately realizes she wants to be "a baby" when she grows up...until she regains lucidity and feels regret.

Arriving at the last stand of the Paddling Center (run by Mei and Iku); after admitting how unsafe the original idea of a "batting cage" was, it ended up being Mei pitching and Ahko "hitting" Iku, where she'd be graded and even get a keychain prize for her effort. Ahko does try, but Iku relents that all she hit was a "double".

Ahko thanks everyone for the shopping experience, but admits she wants to open her own stall which was set aside for her. The gyaru states that what she has isn't for sale but it's her favorites, revealing everything she got from them from her experiences. Kusuri states she wants to buy from Ahko as Hahari distributes "Ren" to everyone allowing them to all experience the stalls at their leisure (and for Nano to finally give Iku the "home run" she desired).
