Iin Chiyo (伊 (い) 院 (いん) 知 (ち) 与 (よ) , Īn Chiyo^?), is a main character and is Rentarou's 12th girlfriend. She is a 1st year student at Ohananomitsu Middle School and is Rentarou's cousin.

Appearance

Chiyo is one of the shortest of Rentarou's Family. She has a petite figure and has short brown hair.

At school, she wears the middle school uniform in a much neater style (blazer done up all the way and skirt at an appropriate length) and ties her hair into twin pigtails. She usually lets her hair down on days off from school.

Chiyo also wears large, round-framed glasses, which are a keepsake from her mother.

Personality

Chiyo is reliable and tidy which led to her becoming class president. But she dislikes negative things unexpectedly (such as violating the rules, looking untidy, a messy room, rude speaking, porn mags, underage smoking, etc.). As soon as she found out, she immediately fixed it.

When she takes her glasses off, she becomes anxious and begins crying uncontrollably.

History

Chiyo is the daughter of Iin Hiro and an unnamed woman. They first meet when Rentarou visits her family house.

Chiyo is revealed to have an obsessive need to tidy things that are out of place, as seen when she personally fixes Rentarou's shirt after it becomes untucked and crumpled. After inviting him in and serving him tea, one event leads to another (Rentarou spilling tea on his uniform, having no hot water to shower with and getting locked in the bathroom), leaving Rentarou shivering from his cold shower.

Chiyo ends up hugging him in an attempt to warm him with her own body heat, which leads Rentarou to comfort her, saying that she doesn't have to be so firm and proper at her age.

Her cousin and boyfriend. They first meet when Rentarou visits her family house.

Yakuzen Kusuri

Chiyo and Kusuri sometimes take on a daughter-and-mother relationship, as seen in Chapter 59 when Kusuri uses her glasses to calm down Chiyo.

Etymology

• Iin (伊院) is made of 伊 (Italy, but may also refer to 伊呂波, meaning "fundamentals") and 院 (institution, or school).
• Chiyo (知与) is made of 知 (wisdom) and 与 (to participate, or award).
• Chiyo's full name is written in hiragana strongly resembles the second half of the Japanese word for "class president" 学級委員長 in hiragana, referring to Chiyo"s position at school.

Trivia

• Chiyo has kissed and been kissed by Rentarou at least 6 times as of Chapter 160.
• She is the second girlfriend introduced who is related to someone else within Rentarou's family. The first would be Hahari.
• Chiyo's birthday is on October 1st. This day is also known as 'Glasses Day (メガネの日 Megane no hi)' in Japan due to the number '1001' looking like a pair of glasses.
