Kedarui Aashii (毛 (け) 樽 (だる) 井 (い) 亜 (あ) 愛 (あ) 子 (し) 衣 (い) , Kedarui Āshī^?) also known as Ahko and Arcee, is a main character and is Rentarou's 18th girlfriend. She is a 1st year, class 1 student at Ohananomitsu High School.

Appearance

Ahko is a gyaru. She has blue eyes, and pale blonde hair that she fills with cute accessories such as barrettes and scrunchies. She similarly decks out any outfit she wears with cute things like ribbons, pins, jewelry, etc. She almost always has a laidback smile on her face, even when she's upset.

Personality

Ahko has a love of anything and everything cute, even if it's things others wouldn't think are cute. She collects cute things and loves to share them with others.

Ahko usually seems to have a bubbly personality but there are also rich feelings hidden in heart. She is very gentle and good at considering others and praising others directly.

Ahko's smile has been with her since her birth. Whether she is happy, sad or angry, her expression does not change much, which sometimes causes her to be misunderstood. (However, this restriction can be lifted after body swapping with another person.)

Ahko has low blood pressure, which makes her a girl who only smiles and has poor physical fitness.

History

She meets Rentarou at a fashion shop, after they both introduce themselves, Ahko tells him that she loves accesories with a "fashion" look, alongside using aliases like Arcee, and using cute slangs.

The next day, Rentarou finds her sitting alone during lunchbreak, so he decides to talk with her for a while, that's when he finds out that Ahko's friends are rather mean to her, and understands why she felt so happy when she found someone who also thinks that certain things are cute.

A day later, they agree to meet at a flea market, to help Ahko sell some things she considers needless by now; thanks to this, she finds out many people are fascinated by the same things as she (like plushes), and decides that when she grows up, she wants to open a store to sell stuff like that, and tells Rentarou that she would be glad to have him running the store alongside her, and thus, confessing her love to him, Rentarou gladly accepts, thus making Ahko his 18th girlfriend.

Sometime later, Rentarou introduces Ahko to the rest of the girlfriends, thus making her a member of the Rentarou family.

Relationships

Aijou Rentarou

Ahko is Rentaro's 18th girlfriend. She films a couple's daily video with Rentarou at her home in Chapter 162. Ahko can senses Rentarou's hidden emotion and prompts him to reveal his true feelings, which is a situation rarely seen for girlfriends in previous story.

Hifumi Suu

Ahko and Suu are classmates. She helped Suu remember the names of family members. However, Suu was able to remember Ahko's name without using numbers.

Inda Karane

When Ahko and Karane went shopping together, they met Ahko's friends. Karane angrily criticized them for not caring about Ahko's feelings and declared that she would be Ahko's forever friend. Ahko expressed her gratitude to Karane.

Etymology

• Kedarui (毛樽井) is a homophone for the word 気だるい (kedarui), which means languid, listless or feeling sluggish.
• Aashii (亜愛子衣) is a homophone for her first person pronoun, あーし(āshi), a slang version of the pronoun あたし (atashi) often used by gyaru
• If one goes beyond Japanese, Aashi in Hindi means "smile", which is fitting considering she always smiles.

Trivia

• Ahko has kissed and been kissed by Rentarou at least 8 times as of Chapter 162.
  • 6 of which happened in Chapter 162 alone.
• Ahko's birthday is on February 5th, also known as 'Smile Day 笑顔の日(Egao no hi)' in Japan. This is due to the onomatopeia for smiling: ニコニコ(nikoniko) being a Goroawase (wordplay), with 2(ni) and 5 (go/ko).
