| —Kurumi Haraga confesses her feelings to Rentarou Aijou, 100 Kanojo Manga: Chapter 24 | ||
Kurumi Haraga (
She is Rentarou's 7th girlfriend, and is a third year student at Ohananomitsu Middle School.
Appearance[]
Kurumi's Full Appearance.
Kurumi has shoulder-length purple hair with a long fringe, and emerald green eyes. Her eyebrows are thick, and she tends to have a scowl on her face due to being perpetually hangry.
Being younger than Rentarou, Kurumi is shorter than him, coming up to his shoulders. She has a slim body, and a modest bust for her age.
School Uniform[]
Kurumi is usually seen wearing the Ohananomitsu Middle School uniform.
She wears her blazer unbuttoned, and does not wear a necktie. Between her uniform blouse and blazer, Kurumi also wears a black hoodie with lime and purple stripes. In order to block out as much external stimuli as possible to avoid associating them with food (and getting hangry as a result), Kurumi usually puts her hood up, and also wears a pair of black headphones with pink highlights which she keeps around her neck.
Kurumi also adopts some elements of the kogal aesthetic, shortening her skirt, wearing loose white socks, and mint green sneakers instead of the standard school loafers.
Personality[]
Kurumi's personality is best described as "perpetually hangry". Due to her extremely fast metabolism, she always feels hungry, and is usually irritable and bad-tempered as a result. At times, she can get especially cranky if she develops a craving for certain foods, due to seeing or hearing certain things in her environment or watching certain media (for example, craving fried eggs on toast after watching Castle in the Sky).
On the flip side – Kurumi has a sweet side when enjoying her food. Her mood drastically improves while she is eating, and she becomes more sociable and courteous towards others. She also has good table manners, and will give thanks properly before and after her meals.
Abilities[]
Peak Human Metabolism[]
Kurumi has an incredibly fast metabolism. While this is the cause of her constant hunger (resulting in her perpetual bad mood), this allows her to eat large quantities of food in a single sitting. Kurumi also does not gain additional weight, or incur any health issues or discomfort from eating large amounts of food. While Kurumi has a voracious appetite, her stomach does have an upper limit to the amount of food it can contain (before digestion).
History[]
Rentarou first meets Kurumi while buying lunch at his school cafeteria, and they reach for the same medamayaki pan (fried egg on toast). While Kurumi is initially cold towards Rentarou, she warms up to him after he offers to share his food with her. While eating, Kurumi explains that due to her fast metabolism, she always feels hungry, and becomes grouchy as a side effect. She also explains that she craves certain foods after seeing or hearing things related to them. After finishing her meal, Rentarou attempts to ask her name, but Kurumi declines coldly, before returning to the middle school side. As she leaves, she wonders why she seems to be getting worked up over meeting Rentarou.
The next day, Kurumi is craving a menchi-katsu (fried meat patty) sandwich, after her classmates kept talking about it. She runs into Rentarou at the middle school cafeteria, where it is sold out. When Kurumi decides to head off-campus to find a menchi-katsu sandwich, Rentarou offers to go for her (since middle school students are not allowed off-campus during the lunch break), but she lashes out at him for getting involved. After realizing her mistake, Kurumi runs away.
Kurumi's search for a menchi-katsu sandwich ends in failure, with her frustrated at herself for treating Rentarou rudely when he was offering to help her. Upon returning to school, Rentarou calls her to the school's cooking classroom, where he has a menchi-katsu sandwich waiting for her. Rentarou then shares that Kurumi has good qualities about her — namely, her respect for food and enjoying every meal wholeheartedly. He says that sharing a meal with someone who is enjoying themselves makes the meal much more enjoyable, and those are what makes Kurumi a wonderful person.
Touched by Rentarou's sincerity, Kurumi confesses to Rentarou, asking if she can continue eating with him as a couple. Rentarou accepts, and Kurumi formally introduces herself as a third-year in middle school (one year younger than Rentarou). Rentarou addresses her with the suffix "chan" — though Kurumi tells him not to, since it makes her crave chanko nabe (chanko stew).
Relationships[]
Hahari Hanazono[]
Due to an uncontrollable love for cute things, Hahari wants to treat Kurumi as her own child and wants to be called "mommy", even though Kurumi refuses many times.
Momiji Momi[]
Momiji is Kurumi's classmate.
Himeka Saiki[]
Kurumi is a fan of Himeka, and she tends to be starstruck around her when she is not acting abnormally.
